The savvy, arty team between Bacchanale and Boombox projects is back with its multidisciplinary Ancient Future Festival. The event includes music, art, and circus arts as a way to mirror a utopian future.
Among those to watch, Chatte Chatoyante is performing a burlesque show. However, her shows are never what one expects, as they combine dream-like dance with fashion-forward costuming. The artistic collective of Cirquantique also mix together burlesque with other disciplines: circus, dance, and electronic music. For more straight-up circus performance, look no further than Firecrackers, who are known for mixing together dance, theatre, acroyoga, and, of course, circus arts.

Musicians and DJs keep the pulse of Ancient Futures beating. American hip hop duo, The Underachievers bring psychedelic hip hop to the party Also keep an eye out for Italian DJ Sam Paganini. Victor Ruiz will be offering Brazilian carioca electronic music. Another duo to catch are Nymra and Sofisticated who have been DJing together for years, and have appeared at both international and local festivals.
The Ancient Futures Festival takes place at the Quai de l’Horloge on September 8-9. Keep an eye on the website HERE for details. The weekend pass is available for $75 until July 15 and then the price increases.
