The real star of Big Hero 6 is a big white robot named Baymax. This inflatable character calls to mind such memorable characters as the Michelin man and the stay puff marshmallow man from the1984 flick Ghostbusters. Robots aren’t usually portrayed to be particularly lovable or humorous but Baymax is the exception to this rule. Although the inflatable robot was originally built to act as a health care provider once he teams up with Hiro the robot takes on the persona of loyal and faithful companion whose prime objective is to come to the aid of his patient. Baymax goes above and beyond his programmed functions in order to ensure Hiro’s emotional and physical welfare. Throughout Big Hero 6 Baymax proves himself to be not only a selfless hero but also a caring friend and when needed even providing the main character with a moral compass.

Big Hero 6 is a fun film suitable for the all members of the family. Young viewers as well as their parents are bound to be won over by the movie’s slick visuals, impressive 3D effects, and the earnest charms of Baymax.

Big Hero opens November 7 in theatres.
