Experience a Snoezeland and Benefit The Centre de Readaptation Lucie-Bruneau

Snoezeland Benefit Snoezeland Benefit

For any Montrealer, Le Belmont is known for its concerts and electronic nights. On March 13th, things are about to get twisted. Nine students from Université de Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) are hosting a benefit for Montreal’s Foundation of the Rehabilitaion Center Lucie-Bruneau (Centre de Réadaptation Lucie-Bruneau). The Center helps people suffering from physical disabilities to improve their social participation and quality of life. Tickets are available HERE.

100% of every little penny collected for the night will be given to the Rehabilitation Center of Lucie-Bruneau! This is an excellent way to support, help and encourage the Foundation. I interviewed Zoë Birnbaum-Charbonneau who is part of the project, about what we as guests can expect.

The event starts at 9 P.M. and we are advised to come early! Montreal based DJs Jay London and Buck Smith are providing music for the night. As well as AGYO and Félix Dallaire.
You may ask yourself what SNOEZELAND means. It comes from the word “snoezelen'” which is a controlled multi-sensory environment. This type of environment is used as therapy for people suffering from developmental disabilities. Using special lighting effects, colour and sounds, these ‘”snoezelen rooms” provide the patients with multi-sensory experiences to help them stimulate their senses which eventually leads to ameliorating their communication and functioning. Birnbaum-Charbonneau and her team are trying to achieve this effect with their evening. They have planned sensory experiences which will focus on the body’s five senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. Attendees will be able to do the interactive activities while dancing the night away to electronic beats!

Mark your calendars, ladies and gentleman, and let’s all get together for a great cause.

Snoezeland takes place at Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent) on March 13th. 9PM. $12-15.
