The Festival du nouveau cinéma (FNC) will present 400 films and events from during its 46th edition from October 4 to 15, 2017. There are 43 world premieres, 15 international premiers, 45 North American premieres and 55 Canadian premieres from 68 countries in the following sections: International Competition, Focus Québec/Canada, Les incontournables, Les nouveaux alchimistes, Panormama international, Temps Ø, Histoire(s) du cinéma, Présentations spéciales, P’tits Loups, Rencontres pancanadiennes du cinéma étudiant, FNC EXPLORE, Events and a new section FNC Forum.

FNC Forum is an industry network incubator where professionals can forge connections through expert panels, cocktail parties and breakfast from October 10 to 13, 2017.

The opening film is the awaited Blade Runner directed by Denis Villeneuve, which will have its world premiere at Théâtre Maisonneuve on October 4. The closing film is Loving Vincent, the animated story of Van Gogh.“The idea is to have many films in Temps Ø that can go in other sections,” says Julien Fonfrède, programmer for Temps Ø and who programs in other sections as well. He programs films he knows he would like to go see as an audience member.

The title’s English translation is “Let the corpses tan”, which says a lot about this thriller action film where 3 robbers with 250 kg of gold try to hide in an abandoned town but are disturbed 2 cops and more. Expect blood and lots of bullets shot on the screen.
