Ok, they’re not all giant puppets. Le Festival Marionnettes Plein la Rue features puppets and marionettes of all sizes and shapes. Now in its 6th edition, this festival features 17 different troupes that will perform 54 shows along Rue Wellington in Verdun. Each troupe will perform between two and three shows at a specific location. For kids (and kids at heart), there is also a puppet making workshop, though preregistration is required on facebook. In the evening, for those 18 and older, Pomme de Route will perform at Bar Palco on August 27. On August 27, the festival closes out with a performance by So Called along with his marionnettes at 5 p.m., available to all.

Some of the troupes to check out are Corps fauniques, Poppettscu, Le ciel Rue, Siméon rêve de cirque, Bazarnaum, KluG, Caisse 606, and more.

Festival Marionnettes Plein la Rue takes place August 27-28, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Rue Wellington in Verdun. For details, click HERE.
