Great Deals on Local Fashion Makes the Braderie de Mode Attractive to Attend

If you are looking to support local designers and don’t know where to start acquiring their products, the perfect opportunity is coming. From April 10th to the 13th is the Braderie de Mode Québécoise. This big fashion sale by Quebec Designers attracts thousands of fashionistas or simply people looking to score amazing deals on good quality designer pieces. Only local, fellow designers from Montreal and Quebec have the chance to showcase their collections and offer their exclusive products at the Braderie.

One thing that makes this semi-annual fashion sale so special is that designer and customer can be fortunate enough to meet each other. Hence designers can see who it is that purchases their pieces and they can take inspiration and ideas from meeting their customers, whilst the latter can see the philosophy and the history of the clothing that they wear which obviously starts with the designer. Designers participating in this fashion event describe it as a “rendez-vous” with the client so that they can get to know each other.

This year is the twentieth anniversary of this giant pop-up sale that started in 1994. At its very beginning, only a couple of participating designers attracted around 100 customers. However its success has led it to continue operating every year where hundreds of designers attract thousands of shoppers.

The sale takes place in three locations: Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec. Anne de Shalla, designer and producer of the event, even has Americans interested in bringing the Braderie to the U.S. For the moment, she is keeping it exclusive to Canada.

Customers can expect to find basically anything from children’s fashion to menswear to women’s wear. Sports clothing, outerwear, evening wear, casual clothing, lingerie, bathing suits, shoes and accessories are among the items showcased at prices discounted from 50 to 80 percent off. Among the famous names that can be found at this mega sale are Mackage, Rudsak, Avalanche, Bijoux Caroline Néron, Ophelie Hats, Nadya Toto and Annie 50.

Clients are not purchasing past seasons. They are purchasing the hot new looks of the season. Customers are able to purchase the sample items and overstock products at ridiculously low prices which makes the Braderie very attractive to attend.

The Braderie de Mode Quèbecoise takes place April 10-13th at the Bonsecours Market (350 St. Paul E). Hours are Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free entrance.
