May is here! We’ve made it through our finals, we’ve been eagerly planning our summer vacations, and it looks like the heat is here to stay. But before enjoying some sangria on a terrasse, consider taking a look at some of these great events the Montreal art scene has to offer this month:

Art Industrialized at VAV Gallery
May 4 to 15
Featuring artists Amelie Grooscors, Anthony Brunelle, Coey Kett, Milo Reinhardt and Shinae Lee who have taken inspiration from industrial space and the technological. Vernissage on May 5 @ 6 PM. As always, alcohol and snacks for those of us who get there early enough!

Montreal Comic Arts Festival at Espace La Fontaine (3933 Parc La Fontaine)
May 29-31
The fourth edition of the Comic Arts Festival brings together artists from Montreal and further afield to talk about their arts. Events include an artist talk with Seth, launches of Pope Hats and Melody: Story of a Nude Dancer, films, and workshops.

Horst: Photographer of Style at the McCord Museum
May 14 to August 23
Retrospective of German-American fashion and portrait photographer Horst P. Horst. Curator Susanna Brown will hold a free lecture on May 14 @ 6 PM.

Just For Him: Montreal Men’s Fashion Festival
May 26-28
Check out the 7th floor of the ALT Hotel on May 26 and 27 at 5 PM for free fashion photography exhibits. A fashion show will be held at Place Ville Marie on May 28 at 6 PM, featuring tons of incredible menswear from Montreal designers.
