An evening of electronic, psychedelic splendor may just be well suited the weekend before Halloween, as Meatbodies take center stage with their digitally innovative, heavy, and hard punk musical hysteria.

The “cool dudes” of Meatbodies hail from Los Angeles, California, with front man Chad Ubovich continuing the band’s hardcore journey, as they grind out crunching melodies with an ensemble of head-splitting quarter notes (sometimes), with a lyrical sensation that rips and rotes an audience to scream for more.

Since their self-titled debut LP in 2013, recorded in San Francisco, Meatbodies have demonstrated a modern meaning to foggy and psychedelic music. Having worked in the studio recording with noted producer Erik “King Riff” Bauer (known for his work with Mikal Cronin, Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, White Fence, and The Fuzz), Ubovich’s collaboration on the album with Cory Hanson, Riley Youngdahl, Ty Segall, Erik Jiminez, and Chris Woodhouse on the sound mixing, succeeded in extracting that “controlled chaos” from the interceptor that is the unified mind.

Such a mind of sound and words has led Ubovich to continue performing and recording the band’s newest LP release, Tremors. Tracks on the album consist of “Mountain”, “Disorder”, and “The Archer,” with choruses of splendid ear-melting conundrums, and a never-ending musical chase of an impetuous youth in “Gold”, and “Wahoo”, the sad breakup as the chase steeps still in the rock ballad “Two”, then the revenge of the chaser in a self-loathing cocaine rocker in “Off”, leading to “Dark Road” (you’re getting the bloody picture), with a soft chorus – the bone of the album, in between gushes of an electric guitar bomb about to explode.

Then comes the finale – “The Master”. Five minutes and 42 seconds of ripping the whole body of the album apart, and putting it back together again in a coda that maintains the core hard rock sound that keeps the Meatbodies scoring high in a rock and rolling grand slam.

Get ready to have your drinks get warm, or get cold, as Meatbodies stun yet another audience this Sunday, October 26 at Le Bar Ritz P.D.B. (179 Jean Talon W) at 8 p.m.
