Montreal BurlesGeek presented its third edition at La Sala Rossa on Sunday January 19th. At 7:30 the line-up of show-goers wound down the staircase, through the restaurant, and out the front door. It was so packed in the hall that Ms. Lulu herself came out to ask that each person move their seats a space forward to make room for others waiting outside.

Hosted by a witty and bilingual Stan Lee (Sucre à la Crème), the show featured some very sexy and silly performers who showed off the fairer aspects of the Marvel Universe.

The first act featured The Avengers getting down to some superb German disco music.

Nightcrawler (Punani Difranco) also made an appearance. She didn’t walk through walls but she did have some wicked moves.

We also met a geeky boy with a ukulele (Barley Côté) who didn’t strip down to his spiderman boxers right away. Instead he sang us a love song and encouraged us to sing along.

♪Sometimes it’s hard to be a geek. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. ♫

The performances were playful and required some improvisation. At times, a glove would stick, or a corset would refuse to come undone. These minor kinks only made the crowd’s cheering grow louder. With such a supportive audience, the performers turned their wardrobe malfunctions into part of their geeky little acts. So if you’re looking for a fun show with a kinky twist, Montreal Burlesgeek will not disappoint.

Now please enjoy this awesome workout video that was played during the intermission.
