Music to Fringe To

Fringe Park 2014 Fringe Park 2014

We’re pretty stoked about the Montreal Fringe Festival at Rampage. It’s almost three weeks of theatre, comedy, music, art, film… pretty much everything we love to cover here at the site. The energy is spectacular and the people fascinating.

The Fringe music has developed over the years from a few shows to a rather substantial number of concerts, including free shows at the Fringe Park (St. Rachel and St. Laurent). We even have have tickets for the first weekend’s APigeon and Lakes of Canada to give away.

With so much music, it’s worth knowing a few of the standout shows to catch:

Primal Dance: We Are Wolves with Duchess Says and Meta Gruau

We are Wolves needs no fluffing from us. Their huge sound with repetitious riffs and drum beats is something for when you’re ready to give your mind to the beats and your body taken over. Duchess Says is art rock. Annie-Claude Deschênes won’t hide behind the mike, but will make sure that everyone is present.

June 4. Divan Orange (4324 St Laurent). 9:30 p.m. $17/20

Folk and Sea: Old Men Luedecke and Corinna Rose

After shaking everything your momma gave you, time to cuddle up to some story-telling folk with Old Man Luedecke. Banjo in hand, he’ll bring the folky, bluegrass sound of the East Coast to town for the night. The beautiful singer Corinna Rose was interviewed by us HERE.  She’s the perfect soulful opener.

June 11. Divan Orange (4324 St Laurent) 9:30 p.m. $13

DIY Synths : Mozart’s Sister and Kroy

Fall in love with these electro-pop performers. Mozart’s Sister is an analog goddess on the synth.  These are two you won’t want to miss. Kroy captures a grandeur with her dynamic vocals and big synth sound.

June 19. Divan Orange (4324 St Laurent) 9:30 p.m. $13
