My Montreal Bucket List : The Prequel

As most of you already know by now, Montreal is awesome. It kind of blows my mind to think of just how awesome it is, and on so many levels. Even if I don’t currently live in the city (I live on the South Shore. I know, it’s embarrassing) I tend to think of Montreal as my home. I got to see a lot of the city as a student; thanks to my amazing horrible sense of directions I ended up lost more often than I’d like to admit, but I always ended up discovering something along the way that I had no clue even existed.

It was in my last year as a student that I started the list. I kept hearing about so many cool things to see or do and wanted to make sure I kept track of all of them, marking off each one as I experienced it. But being a student sure takes up a lot of time, doesn’t it? I had few opportunities to go and explore Montreal the way I wanted to. But now I’m more than ready to dive right in and explore the city from top to bottom. Oh, and of course I’ll share all of this with you.

Montreal

So… what’s on the list? Some things are pretty standard, others random or dorky and sometimes even cheesy. That’s just who I am. I say I hate cheesy, overly-romantic gestures then secretly hope for flowers from my boyfriend. I have a bit of a split personality, but that’s ok.

My bucket list obviously reflects my personal interests but I think most people can appreciate good food, cool architecture, unique adventures, and beautiful scenery. My true love is writing, and Montreal is a good place for writers with all its cafes and parks and libraries. I love the fact that Montreal has a street named “Ernest-Hemingway”. My second true love is food, and I believe that spending money on a good meal is money well-spent, no matter how expensive.

I am beyond stoked to start this column. I will see you all very soon!
