What’s better than Piknic Electronik on a weekend? What about TWO piknics? This weekend was a double header as Piknic joined forces with Montreal Completement Cirque and the Weekends du Monde Festival at Parc Jean Drapeau.
Local DJs came out on the 5th including Papa Kola and the Ubiquitous Family, Dubble Truble, Mr. Touré, Poirier. Closing was German beat master SchlachtofBronx who recently supported MIA and has performed booty bass world over.
July 6 came with the Jackathon, Jesse Voltaire, Ponsolo, then Jimmy Edgar and Heidi. Famelik and Noyl took the Smirnoff stage b2b.
Cirque Alphonse was in the house to give an excerpt from their show Barbus: Foire electro trad. In black underwear, black shoes, and beards, these men (and one woman, dressed differently), astounded the crowd with their multi-human pileups.
And, of course, Weekends of the World came to visit.
