It was about time someone thought to combine two Montreal past times: poutine and festivals. The result is Montreal’s first PoutineFest (not to be confused with the ever popular Poutine Week). Food trucks rolled in, allowing fans of the gravy-cheese-french fries concoction to try everything their hearts desired. Le Smoking BBQ, sponsor of the fest, came with two trucks offering pulled pork poutine, ribs poutine, smoked sausage poutine, and smoked chicken poutine. Big D’s Doghouse poutine had a death taco poutine and a coney island poutine. Bar Brutus prepared Jagerpoutine. L’Gros Luxe brought out a poutine with cheese, beans, sriracha sauce, basil. Fat Les Chip Stand had an Ultimate poutine. Golden Fries from Ottawa comes with its lobster and bacon poutine.  THe Great Canadian Poutine, also from Ottawa, does a Canadian poutine that includes bacon, beef, mushrooms, and maple syrup. Heart attack poutine sprinkles powder sugar on top. Lucky’s Truck of course comes with duck confit poutine. General Tao poutine comes from Planète Poutine. Routine Poutine will take you around the world with Italian poutine with Italian sausage, or China poutine with ground beef, onions, and corn. The Upper Deck Diner begins with the London red bus and the journey goes from there.
