If you’ve ever wanted to take part in saving the world from a zombie virus you’ll get your chance now.

A/Maze Montreal unveiled their new escape room titled The Ultimate Mind, that challenges players to break into a lab and steal a sample that will save the world from an impending zombie breakout. Ultimate Mind will be the biggest of the themed rooms with four different areas for players to explore before their escape.

“We wanted the room to be more like an adventure game,” said co-founder of A/Maze, Alex Karpov.

Their efforts to achieve their goal has the escape room equipped with lasers, lab equipment, and real-life props to enhance the experience. A lounge has also been incorporated into the new room layout that will appeal to corporate events and parties.

Halloween marks A/Maze’s one year anniversary and owners said they have experienced a lot of popularity and are negotiating to keep expanding their rooms despite the appearance of other escape room game companies in the city.

“We make adjustments to our rooms every month and if we find something more fun, we try to integrate it into our rooms,” said co-founder Anton Pushkar, “At the end of the day, those who put in the extra effort will succeed.”

Recently, A/Maze stayed open until 2 a.m. for Halloween, and upgraded the escape room experience by adding live actors and special spooky additions. Owners said spots for the Halloween event filled up quickly for all three nights even with extended hours.

A/Maze is located at 3550 St. Jacques and reservations can be made online at www.amazemontreal.com. Up to five players can play a single game at one time. The game is open Mondays and Wednesdays, 2 p.m. – 10 p.m., and Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. $23/20 (cost using PayPal).
