If improv is your thing, I suggest you come on down to the Saint Catherine Theatre and laugh your socks off every Sunday Night.

The night started when the host, Laura Flynn, came onto the stage of the Saint Catherine Theatre and said it was a show of elimination — Survivor. The audience was the judge and we rated them from 1-5 (five being the best). The first round was a warm-up round, and we got a taste of the actors’ different personalities.

Each of the actors were numbered and went on stage in pairs. There were no solo acts, though the director, Nick, offered a few of the third wheels a solo part — but it was excused and the act went on as a trio.

All of the acts were rated a three or higher. The few that got fives were hilarious such as Hamberdog. The couple had to act out a scene at a hot dog stand. George was the owner of a new hot dog stand in Detroit and Eddie was his friend who came to visit. George sold only half of a hot dog to a child; George didn’t want the child to get fat. Eddie ordered a dozen hot dogs to help his struggling friend and in the middle of trying to carry all of his hot dogs Eddie revealed to George that he had lied about being a lawyer and actually works at a hamburger stand. George’s eyes then lit up and he busted out an epic idea: selling hamberdogs. The scene then fast-forwarded to a week later and the idea was a success. The audience loved it and the act got a whooping five.

Sadly most of the funnier actors got voted off including George from Hamberdog. It was sad to see my favourite actors go but that didn’t mean the laughing stopped. The actors gave it their all and finished off the show. The last act had only two actors standing, Dan and Josh, in a battle involving a hat. They had to act out a scene (suggested by the audience of course) and one of them had to knock off the other’s hat. The game reminded me of the game we used to play as kids where we would slap each other’s hands and if the person missed, the other person would get the point. The scene took place in a small area and the winning scene took place in a bathtub. It was a funny thing to see two guys in a basket trying to knock each other’s hats off and one of the funniest guys I’ve seen, Dan, won the battle of Survivor.

The show was a great success and I loved every moment of it. The environment was awesome (even being a small space). The audience was splendid and the actors, incredible. I applauded for a good five minutes at the end. It was a wonderful show.
