TO DO Tonight: random

random random

Violence, racism, and grief are the subjects of Imago and Black Theatre Workshop’s newest piece random, starring Lucinda Davis and directed by Micheline Chevrier. Inspired by innocent and accidental murder victims in the black community in London in 2008, the piece looks at the normalization of violence among black youth. Davis plays different members of a West Indian family whose lives are transformed after police burst into their home. The show is done in a spoken-word style, poetic, hard hitting, and incisive.
