The Shop Around the Corner: No Laughing Matter & Other Quebec Curios
As we continue on our journey exploring smaller bookstores around Montreal, we noticed that there were a considerable number of comic book stores out there. Whether you want to complete the story cycle you started or try and find a new comic series to get lost in, one of these stores is sure to be the one for you.

From collecting cards to checking out their collection of new and used books, Astro Books is the largest comic books dealer in Quebec. Coming from the East End or the West Island, or just lazy? No problem. Astro also has their collection on Abebooks for you to peruse. If you find a title you like, you can either order it online or go to the bookstore to check it out. Approximately a block away from Argo Bookstore, so be sure to check them out as well. Store hours are Monday to Wednesday from noon to 7 pm, Thursday and Friday from noon to 9 pm, Saturday from noon to 8 pm, and Sunday from noon to 6 pm.
Comic Hunter
9675 Papineau #10 (Ahuntsic-Cartierville)
The only store where you can rent or even hunt down that elusive issue you’ve been dying to read, Comic Hunter is another fine place to check out. Are you a comics collector? Comic Hunter also has supplies to protect your precious issues. Kids 12 and under get to pick a free comic from the Dollar Bin! From figurines to graphic novels, Cosmix carries your favourite standard DC and Marvel comics, as well as some indie publishers as well.
