Read local should be a slogan. Peter Kirby is both a lawyer and an author in Montreal. His beloved character, Luc Vanier, Montreal sleuth, returns in a third novel Open Season. Vanier investigates the kidnapping of a Guatemalan journalist in Montreal. The journalist was involved in investigating human trafficking, worked for a multinational mining company, and tried to avoid deportation as a failed refugee claimant. Sound good? You bet. Meet Kirby and get a chance to get the book first at tonight’s launch of Open Season.

Kirby celebrates the opening of his book at a launch tonight October 6 at Librarie Paragraphe Bookstore (2220 McGill College Ave). 6:30-7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served and admission is free.
