Montreal’s year long celebration of the city’s 375th anniversary comes to a close on December 31 with a massive city party. Food, spectacles, music, and general joy will mark the end of this year of events.
Things start with free food at Marché Bonsecours, where pea soup, tourtière, pouding chômeur, and other traditional foods will be offered. Show up early, because it only will be available so long as it lasts. While wolfing down your food, check out storytellers and artistic performers who will be in the space, including Yves Lambert.
Another sound and light show by Moment Factory, in collaboration with Atomic3, will be done on the Jacques Cartier Bridge. Get ready for fireworks at midnight.
The party moves to the Clock Tower Quay and Place Jacques Cartier at 6 p.m. Here, there will be DJs along with a concert to move us to the new year. Among those performing are Les Deuxluxes, Pierre Kwenders, and Daniel Bélanger. The show is hosted by Garou. At the Jacques Cartier Pier, a massive dance floor will be lit until 2 a.m. while Champion et ses G-Strings provides the music.
