CBC ComedyCoup: Guess What!? DÉPFLIES makes it to top 15!
Here is another thing to add to the list of why to be proud of our city: DÉPFLIES, the first bilingual Montreal-set television show makes it to the top in the CBC ComedyCoup! With just a little more support, and the final push we can finally see a bilingual show on CBC prime time! How awesome is that?
DÉPFLIES is a show about a group of regulars at a family-run Dépanneur in St-Henri. This tradicomedy, written by Alain Merciera shows the many subcultures of Montreal and its unique bilingualism. Everything about this 8-part play series is unique, including its original music by Jeff Louch (Dear Denizen, Victory Crimes).

This September over 250 projects across Canada submitted their application to participate in the battle where only the funniest will survive. The winner is promised to receive $500 000 in production financing to create a 30 minute comedy special for the CBC. DÉPFLIES are guilty of making six hilarious videos that helped them get through two rounds to the top 15. It’s thanks to you guys that with this united support we are sharing a piece of Montreal’s unique beauty with the rest of Canada!
The voting is done, but your support never counted more. Vote for your fellow Montrealers who are striving to make us all proud and vote vote vote.
