Go Completely Circus Wild with Montréal Complètement Cirque
For 11 days, Montreal will be invaded with circus acts in different venues and neighbourhoods from local and international circus artists. Montréal Complètement Cirque will present shows from the Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the US. Last year, the circus festival attracted a record number of 235,000 people.
There are nine indoor shows being presented throughout the festival. Whether you prefer a classical circus act, more innovative or romantic, there is a show for everyone of all ages. The opening night will showcase the new creation Transit from Flip FabriQue (Canada) and Pour le Meilleur et pour le Pire from Cirque Aïtal (France). Bromance is an act with three British men who showcase their muscles and strengths but also shows the insecurity, humanity and friendship among those men.
The Quartier Latin will be the host of most of the free activities of Montréal Complètement Cirque. Minutes Complètement Cirque start on Saint-Denis St. on the corner of Émery where circus performers will perform acrobatics among the crowd in the street before heading to Place Émilie-Gamelin for the festival’s latest creation, Fracas. Dozens of acrobats will perform aerial acrobatics and other circus feats from dancing, jumping, spinning or falling from the sky. A classical soundtrack will accompany the acrobats at Place Émilie-Gamelin for an intimate and spectacular show.
Quartiers Complètement Cirque will present shows, circus workshops and other surprises in these participating neighbourhoods: Mercier, Ville-Marie, Plateau Mont-Royal, Verdun, Rivière-des-prairies¬–Pointe-aux-trembles and Saint-Leonard.
