DURING THAT TIME THE RESTAURANT BECAME A LANDMARK IN THE CITY WHICH HOSTED THE LIKES OF PIERRE TRUDEAU AND RENE LEVEQUE WHO AT THE TIME TAUGHT AT THE NEARBY UNIVERSITIES SIR GOERGE WILLIAMS (CONCORDIA) AND MCGILL. MANY CURRENT LUMINARIES, WHO WERE AT THE TIME STUDENTS, RECEIVED FREE ADVICE AND GUIDANCE FROM THE GENIAL AND PORTLY HOST MR. GOTTLIEB WHO WAS ALSO REFERRED TO AS “LE PATRON”. THE RUNNING JOKE WAS,THAT YOU COULD TELL WHAT WAS ON THE DAILY MENU BY THE FOOD STAINS ON HIS TIE. HIS HEARTY AND DISTINCT LAUGH EMINATING FROM THE BACK OF THE RESTAURANT, COULD BE HEARD AS YOU ENTERED THE FRONT DOOR, WELCOMING EVERYONE. THE PAM-PAM WAS THE FIRST HUNGARIAN RESTAURANT, WHICH SERVED MANY DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF FLOURLESS CAKES ORIGINALLY CREATED BY ELIZABETH WHO TRAINED AS A PATISSERIE CHEF IN EUROPE. BOTH THE VAST SELECTION OF DISTINCT BAKED GOODS AND THE 16 DIFFERENT TYPES OF COFFEE, COMBINED WITH THE FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE MADE THE ESTABLISHMENT RENOWNED INTERNATIONALLY.
