Festival Quartiers Danses Takes Over With Six Shows
What a spectacular opening night!
We witnessed six exclusive excerpts from the 22nd edition of Festival Quartiers Danses, showcasing the incredible diversity and depth of the stunning performances. We were transported into a world of movement and emotion.
Tentacle Tribe, featuring Elon Höglund and Amara Barner, captivated us with their fluid choreography. Mesmerizing movements in a soft light opened this wonderful evening.
This was followed by Pauline Berndsen Danse’s Insectoides, performed by Pauline Gervais and Alexander Ellison. This duet took us on a profound journey of two dancers who attracted and distanced from each other in a performance which was accompanied by Charles Bicari’s intense sound trance.
Third performance was a fabulous duet from Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Nebe, danced with beautiful intensity by Jérémy Galdeano and Věra Kvarčáková. These wonderful dancers presented a powerful and emotionally charged duet.
Another standout from the Grands Ballets Canadiens’ was Podium, with incredible performers Yui Sugawara and Graeme Fuhrman dancing with grace and boundless energy.
Jane Mappin and Rosalie Paquette delighted us with a tender duet accompanied by the live cello of Erich Kory. Margie Gillis offered unique moments of dance and creation, showcasing her undeniable charm and interpretive talent.
This evening was an unforgettable experience!
