The Montréal Completèment Cirque is coming back for its 15th year, and bringing with it some of the most thrilling shows summer has to offer! Whether you’re a fan of acrobatics or clownish antics, here are some top picks for festival-goers seeking to experience all things circus:

La Noce d’Alfonse

Translating to “The Wedding of Alfonse”, this entertaining and irreverent performance will take spectators through a half-dozen scenes, each promising to explore facets of the complex, occasionally bitter, ever-evolving feeling of love. Presented by Cirque Alfonse’s Québecoise family troupe, this is the go-to show for audiences who love to be surprised! July 3 – July 13. Find tickets here.

The Genesis

A gritty acrobatic adventure by the Copenhagen Collective, The Genesis reflects the paradoxes that define modern society: the individual forming the whole; division leading to unity. The atmospheric performance is enhanced by a soundtrack blending classical orchestra with jazz, rhythm, and blues. For a preview of what awaits, be sure to check out the promo videos they’ve posted! July 3rd – July 6th. Find tickets here.

Sophie’s Surprise 29th

Swinging the pendulum back to lighthearted, London and Québec artists come together to plan Sophie’s 29th birthday, with plenty of hijinks, shenanigans, and dance numbers along the way. Viewers looking for some flirty fun in the sun will get their fix here. If you decide to join the party, remember: don’t tell Sophie! July 8th – July 13th. Find tickets here.

Walter Ego

Finally, for the families out there, kids and parents alike will delight in following stern, buttoned-up Monsieur Walter as he wakes into a world completely unlike our own– a silly and magical world packed full of fantasy, inspired by Magritte’s surrealist art. Straight man collides with his wackiest inner self in this new show by family troupe L’Aubergine. July 5th-6th and July 12th-13th. Find tickets here.

Finally, for those with an eye for the best of the best, high-demand tickets are available for two shows: the Cabaret du Jugement Dernière, a showdown between elite acrobats, and L’Autre Cirque, a performance celebrating new and fresh contemporary circus.

Montréal Completèment Cirque takes place from July 3 – 13. Tickets and showtimes are all available HERE.
