Piknic Électronik : The Best Sunday DJs in Montreal and Beyond
Piknic Électronik has been running for a total of 13 years now and it has not lost its hype at all. It has grown so much ever since its first launch in 2003 and with all the success, it has even expanded to Barcelona since 2013. Every Sunday at Parc Jean-Drapeau, you are guaranteed to have a party. The park is always crowded and you are sure to bump into some old friends. Piknics have become this kind of rendez-vous in Montréal – everybody is there. Spending a Sunday afternoon at Piknic are a great way to turn a melancholic day into a bogus Saturday to make you forget that Monday is coming up.
On July 3rd, techno enthusiasts had an exciting Sunday awaiting. German DJ Lena Willikens warmed up the crowd to finally letting Bromance Records’ Louisahhh! finish off. Lena Willikens mixed obscure and industrial kind of techno and raw house tracks. Louisahhh! played groovy techno music which reminded me Brodinski and Gesaffelstein, two French DJs with whom she has previously worked with. People were pleased and kept dancing and grooving until the very ending of her set.
Piknic Electronik continues Sundays until September 25 with an additional show October 22. For tickets and shows, click HERE.
