VAV Gallery, August 16 to 19
The VAV Gallery’s Squirt, an installation and performance-based exhibit, is on this week. With performances by Burcu Emeç, Jack Dexter, Michaek Martini and Peter Shaw, the performance directed by Michael Martini is described as: “a performance installation that lets action take the plunge, and sets aside the action’s text like a towel.” On until August 19.
Les allants ailleurs, vernissage
Galerie Bernard, August 17 from 5 to 8 PM
Joseph-Richard Veilleux’s Les allants ailleurs is an exhibit of works on canvas, paper and wood. Enter Veilleux’s dreamland: inspired by his dreams and contemplations, his art invites you into an ephemeral world, full of symbols and reflections on our human experience. Les allants ailleurs is on until September 17.
Collective Culture Montreal, festival
Never Apart, August 19 to 21
Creative Culture Montreal (CC:MTL) is a festival celebrating the voices of Black, Indigenous and People of Colour in Canada. The 3-day long celebration includes performances, conversations and creativity. Check out the schedule here, and get tickets here.
NDG Arts Week, festival launch
Centre Culturel Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, August 22 from 4 to 8 PM
NDG Arts Week kicks off next Monday with a celebration at Benny Park. Join in on the fun: snacks and performances included. The Circus is even stopping by for a show in the park, while Dr. MaD while provide the music for the evening. Check out the week’s schedule here.
