TO DO Tonight: Loodies Album Launch

Young and talented. Not a bad combo. As five classical music students, the Loodies know a thing or two about how to play instruments. They must be doing something right, since this Montreal band’s first album, Edgy Ground, was produced in 2012 by a few people who seem to know a thing or two about music production: Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed you black emperor!) and Jace Lasek (Patrick Watson, Wolf Parade). Since then, they’ve toured internationally. Their sound is orchestral, dreamy and immense with multiple layers, horns, synths, and even acoustic guitars. Listen to their first release, Coasting, here:

They’re releasing their new album tonight, self-titled The Loodies, and everyone is welcome. Best of all, FREE!

The Loodies play at Bar Le Ritz PDB (179 Jean Talon W) on April 1 at 9 p.m. Free.
