TO DO Tonight: USA out of Vietnam, Big Brave, and Spectral Wound
Ungenreable? Is that even a word? Well, USA out of Vietnam is an un-genre-able band that has evolved from a local drone/noise band that played underground lofts into one with a less abstract sound mess that includes prog, pop, psych, and shoegaze elements. Their songs can be epic in length and rather visceral… not for those who like things softer, warmer, and easier to connect to. They’re about to head to Europe for a tour, so this is a chance to catch them before they cross the Atlantic.
Joining them are two other equally ear pounding bands. Big Brave will be serving up post-rock and Spectral Wound has the metal covered. These three Montreal bands are going to blow the roof off.
USA out of Vietnam, Big Brave, and Spectral Wound are at Turbo Haus (5011 Notre Dame W) on October 5 at 9 p.m. $13.
