Photo Journal: En Masse Exhibit Gets Colourful
Most people will know En Masse for their black and white group mural pieces that decorate storefronts, museums, and other places around Montreal. They sometimes paint in colour too, as shown by the variety of works on display at their latest salon. This event was special as it celebrated the urban art collective’s new space, Espace Pour Les Masses at 135 Van Horne, a place to showcase emerging and professional artists. The opening event featured a whack of invited artists who are well-known in Montreal and beyond, including MC Baldassari, Tyson Bodnarchuk, Olivier Bonnard, Rupert Bottenberg, Dan Buller, Andrew DaSilva, Melissa Del Pinto, Julien Déragon, Dorke, Chris Dyer, Peter Ferguson, Katie Green, Kevin Ledo, Chris Robertson, David Samson, Carlos Santos, Jeremy Shantz, Dave Todaro, Turtle Caps, Cheryl Voisine, and Wax Head. We’ll be keeping out eye on them. For now, enjoy these pieces that were photographed by Michael Bakouch.
Le Salon Pour Les Masses took place on October 18 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Espace pour Les Masses.
