RuPaul’s Drag Race: Battle of the Seasons Tour
The tour was amazing with the queens on fire and offering spectacular performances. Fans were able to get signatures and photographs with their favourite drag queens. They brought them gifts or posed crazily with the queens.
The show started with a medley inspired by Disney songs such as Under the Sea where all the queens sang in colourful costumes with Michelle Visage singing a version of Poor Unfortunate Souls. She wore a black tight dress with purple, similar to Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
Ginger Minj was the first solo performance. She sang to Hello by Adele. What seemed like a simple act quickly changed. She switched from Hello by Lionel Richie, to confessing her love to Justin Bieber, to dancing to Drake’s Hotline Bling and finishing with a remix of Adele’s Hello dancing with two male dancers, smacking people with her hair or hands. The bar was set high and the rest of the show remained entertaining.
Violet Chachki performed a burlesque act, which had the audience screaming, whistling and clapping. Her second solo act was an S&M one where she and two male dancers were dancing in black latex with her video “Bettie” playing the background. She even wore the famous runway costume that was a 2 in 1, which amazed the audience.
BenDeLaCreme presented a hilarious act that follows the evolution of woman from fish to dinosaur to ape to prehistoric woman and finally to her modern self. Her outrageous costumes were hilarious with the background story.
Katya spoke to the audience in French since it was one of the rare cities where she could practice it during the tour. She charmed the audience with her accent and beautiful blowout pictures of her as she asked if she could be considered a woman while having a penis. Her beauty had cost her a job, as she gave the interviewer a boner.
Ivy Winters performed a number in stilts and impressed everyone by tearing her black costume and unveiling a white version.
Ginger Minj, Sharon Needles, Jinkx Monsoon and Michelle Visage sang a song from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Sharon Needles sang a tribute to David Bowie.
Michelle Visage sang a lot compared to last year, either alone with images of the fight for LGBTQ rights on the background, which stemmed from the Stonewall incident.
A version of the Snatch Game was played and two audience members went on stage. The queens imitated Caitlyn Jenner, Liza Minelli and Michelle Visage.
The show lasted about a good two hours. Here’s hoping to another great edition for next year.
