We love giving you tickets. We especially love when we can give you tickets to something that should be on your radar yesterday. This time, we’ve got tickets to Ragers, a Montreal hip hop band that has everyone abuzz. It could be the masks or their dj nights, but really, it’s their urban sound. Like everything else in the city, they produce a cultural mix of beats that embody the gritty side of city life with its bass, rap, rock, and electronic elements. Their songs make use of other musicians in crossovers giving them a flexibility and creativity to their work. The group has been making rounds at festivals like MEG, M for Montreal, and OUMF and they’ve shared the stage with Grandmaster Flash, Tommy Kruise and High Klassified. With their latest EP Unum in hand since April, they’ve been garnering praise and admiration for their collaborations with Husser, Billy Eff, and others.
More solidly from the indie music camp, duo Pif Paf Hangover brings funky and quirky together in a way that people love getting up and grooving along.
Thanks to Indie Montreal, we have a pair of tickets to give away. Indie Montreal’s music programming for the Fringe Festival includes many other super bands (see HERE for list), but the June 16 show of Ragers and Pif Paf Hangover at Divan Orange is one you don’t want to miss.
