Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice at the Nutcracker Market
This year again, the Nutcracker market invaded the Palais des Congrès with beautiful shops and gifts, right in time for Christmas.
This non-profit Christmas market was launched in 2012 in order to help a good cause, the Nutcracker Fund for Children. The fund allows underprivileged children to attend workshops and have free admission to the Nutcracker ballet. Seen as a prequel to the bigger Montreal Craft show (Salon des métiers d’arts de Montréal), this little market feels more intimate and gives a taste of what local artisans and producers have to offer.
Whether you are looking for a gift or just passing by the Place-d’Armes metro station, do not hesitate to drop by the market filled with glittering Christmas trees, Nutcracker figurines and treats in every corner.
They also have a contest: post your selfies at the market with the hashtag #NutcrackerMarket, tag Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal on Facebook and you can win four tickets in a loge for the premier of the Nutcracker.
The Nutcracker Market takes place from November 25 to December 6 at the Palais de Congres. The ballet takes place December 11 to 30 at Place des Arts
