Pie-IX and Henri-Bourassa, the site of twisting and turning confusion for motorists until recently. On September 19, the people of Montreal-North reclaimed the streets for their inaugural outdoor festival celebrating the completion of La Vélocité des lieux. An on-site sculpture by the contemporary art trio BLG, La Vélocité des lieux marks the entrance to the city on its 100th anniversary. To celebrate, the city organized games, a market-place and a community picnic. Although the weather didn’t cooperate, the drizzle didn’t stop the live music, live painting or family fun.
