Tango, It Takes Two
Step into the world of Pointe Tango this coming weekend at the Fringe, you will not be disappointed!
What a show!
Pointe Tango presents a fabulous spectacle of high romance, high dancing skills and high elegance. I discovered the passion and beauty of a dance vocabulary that combines the intimacy of Argentine Tango with the precision of Classical Ballet.
Alexander Richardson and Erin Scott-Kafada are impressive, dancing to the music of Astor Piazolla and Francesco Canaro as well as on the poetry of Leonard Cohen and Charles Bukowski. Scott-Kafada makes dancing on pointe shoes look effortless, the choreographies of Richardson are whitty, romantic, and stylish. In one choreography Erin performs a solo in two different shoes: half pointe and half tango.
On top of that, the performance shows a video projection of Buenos Aires.
This couple dances as one body, their choreographies are filled with grace and precision. The result is unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
This show is a real gem for fans of dance and live performance. Don’t miss it!
